Past Projects

  • Video Consumption

    Over the past five years, traditional broadcast TV delivery methods (cable, satellite and antenna) have been challenged by new delivery models (YouTube and Apple TV). With new set top box products and Internet services that deliver a wide variety of content, the ability to choose and control in terms audio-video entertainment.  Since early adopters already appear to have many options, this research project will examine which models of content delivery are more attractive than others.  It will also determine what people watching, and how content can be delivered for maximum enjoyment.


  • ‘Magic Kitchen’

    Through a collaborative process, the primary objective of the ‘Magic Kitchen’ project is to discover new rich technology and connectivity solutions for consumers in the kitchen environment. The ‘Magic Kitchen’ project will level set technology and application knowledge among key players from across the value chain, take a greenfield approach to concept/solution development and discover new “magic things” for the kitchen environment that will deliver value to consumers and meet expectations without restriction to form and/or function within a five to 15 year time-frame.

  • Digital Kitchen

    Digital Kitchen was a research study that investigated consumer electronics and appliances in use in North American kitchens and determined which new products and services homeowners wanted to see added to their kitchens in the future.

  • Laundry Time

    Laundry Time examined how effective an "intelligent" laundry solution was at simplifying and saving time on laundry tasks while also uncovering consumer attitudes about remote access and control of laundry appliances.

  • Consumer Home User Interface

    This research project examined how product developers and managed solution and service providers can best aggregate data into potentially, one single user interface that is intuitive.  The research project also examined how the user interface solution supports the delivery of a digital lifestyle.
