Tom Semler
Manager, Conservation & Demand Management

Tom Semler is the Manager of Conservation and Demand Management (CDM) for Hydro One Networks, Ontario’s largest electricity utility. In his role Mr. Semler is responsible for the development and management of innovative customer CDM programs that focus on the commercial and industrial sector.  Prior to joining Hydro One Networks, Mr. Semler held various positions of responsibility in the technical as well as marketing areas for companies such as Osram Sylvania, and electricity utilities located in Ontario.

Mr. Semler started his career in the building technologies industry with Tridel Corporation, where he was responsible for the integration of building automation systems as well as the delivery of value added energy services within the luxury condominium market.

A Certified Engineering Technologist and part time instructor at Ryerson University in Toronto, where he teaches Lighting Energy Management, Tom Semler has been active in the CDM and related fields for the past 24 years.



Randy Storch
President & CEO,

Randy Storch became President of Convia, Inc., a Herman Miller subsidiary, in June 2005. He is responsible for bringing to market the concepts and technologies of a new power and data architectural system that is mobile, modular, and programmable. The Convia initiative is aimed at offering customers energy efficient and programmable environments.

Randy joined Herman Miller with a quarter-century of entrepreneurial experience in building start-up companies in the airline reservation, telecommunication, and Internet security fields. Randy was selected as Ernst & Young's "Entrepreneur of the Year" and was named one of Crain's Chicago Business "40 Under 40" in 1997. In addition, Randy was inducted into the University of Illinois Entrepreneurial Hall of Fame. He also is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago.

Randy lives in Highland Park, Illinois, a northern suburb of Chicago. He is married and the father of two children.


Steve Teubner
Director and General Manager,

Steve Teubner is the Director and General Manager of BAE Systems Inc.’s NextGen Facilities program. In this role Teubner is responsible for the overall vision, strategy and execution of BAE’s Intelligent Buildings solution offerings, pulling together BAE’s extensive experience in information technology, facilities management and complex system integration. Teubner’s extensive industry experience covers the entire spectrum of the real estate lifecycle and respective technology solutions within commercial, government and residential real estate sectors.

Prior to leading BAE’s Intelligent Buildings efforts, Teubner was with Deloitte Consulting’s Corporate Real Estate practice where he advised Fortune 100 clients on real estate and workplace technology. He has also held positions with the GSA’s Public Building Services as well as serving as president of a boutique technology consulting firm.

Teubner holds a Bachelors of Architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology, a Masters in Urban Planning and an MBA from the University of Illinois.

Linda Todd has been with Whirlpool Corporation for five years.  She started her career with Whirlpool Canada and then relocated to the Whirlpool Corporate Headquarters in the USA.

Linda is an expert in consumer and competitive marketplace trends, research, insights and intelligence.  Over the past 25 years she has demonstrated a track record of success leading in this functional area within ‘blue chip’ companies - Kellogg’s, Nestle and Pfizer/Warner Lambert.   Linda applies her depth of food and healthcare experience from the consumer packaged goods industry to appliances.  This knowledge base is advantageous to understanding appliance consumers’ usage, attitudes and behavior of appliances.  

She is a member of MRIA, SCIP and The World Futures Society.

Linda’s academic focus includes human sciences, research, organizational effectiveness and marketing, with degrees in Sociology and Psychology, and Business Administration.


Andrew Wale

As Vice President of Marketing for Legrand’s Home Systems Division, Wale is primarily responsible for the Vantage brand and its broad range of luxury residential control and automation products.

A graduate in Mechanical Engineering, Wale grew up in the U.K. and has worked extensively in both Europe as well as North America.
